4 Easy Tips To Boost Your Productivity

Hello everyone! You must be surprised to see me. If you read my previous post, I said I was ready to jump back into blogging and HERE I FINALLY AM, after six months lol. I kept putting it off because life just got in the way, with so many events happening during senior year of college (and I was just being lazy to be completely honest). Well now that I am an official college graduate and definitely have way more free time. Thank you so much for reading if you're still here with me! I've been on my hiatus for far too long, so let's try this again.

Being productive and accomplishing what you actually planned on doing is probably something everyone struggles with a little. (I know I do.) So here are some of my top tips on how to stay productive and accomplish the tasks you set out for yourself!

Plan Ahead
We all have that one friend who's a little too obsessed with cute stationery. I am that friend. For me, I feel more motivated to do work if I have nice supplies, so I bought myself a big binder planner that I keep at my desk. The one I purchased was a memory planner by Heidi Swapp, and includes adorable monthly dividers. You're supposed to do daily scrapbooking in it, and I tried it for a month but it took way too much effort so I just started using it as a normal planner. The format of the planner was divided by monthly and daily pages, and when I finished using it last year, I created my own pages on Photoshop so I could keep reusing my planner.

As far as my planning goes, if I know what's coming up in the next few weeks or month in general, I like to take note of it in the calendar. I will also write it again in a big title in the daily pages, on the respective date it's happening. I also use my daily pages for my to-do's for the day. I recently started writing my daily tasks on a sticky note instead of writing it directly on the page, because it allows me to easily move and switch around tasks if plans change. I'll usually spend a few minutes at the end of the day to figure out what needs to be done the next day.

I've also gotten into bullet journaling lately! I love that system because it allows you to be creative and design it to your personal aesthetic. And it's great because you can customize it to your needs and particular preferences so you have all the sections you want.

Tackle Easy Tasks First
When I have a list of things to do, I will go for the simple ones first. Those include tasks that take the least amount of time, or are not too physically/mentally tiring. It's so satisfying to see a bunch of stuff crossed off my to-do list. Once all the little things are out of the way, I can tackle the big stuff.

Figure Out How You Work Best
Some people like to have periodic breaks to refresh themselves. For me, I like to focus and just keep working until I'm done. Little breaks don't do much for me and I feel like it just makes me lose my momentum. Find out what works best for you so you can maximize your productivity.

Work In A Distraction Free Zone
If having your phone with you is just going to make you check it every ten minutes, leave it in another room so it doesn't distract you while you work. It's really hard to resist picking up your phone when you get a notification, so cut the temptation altogether by unplugging while you work.

Hope these little tips helped! What are your favorite productivity hacks? Let me know in the comments!
